About Madhya Pradesh High Court

The Madhya Pradesh High Court traces its origin to the Nagpur High Court, established on 2 January 1936 under the Government of India Act, 1935. After the States Reorganisation Act, 1956 created the new state of Madhya Pradesh, the court's principal seat moved to Jabalpur, with permanent benches at Indore and Gwalior serving the Malwa and Chambal regions. With a sanctioned strength of 53 judges, the court hears writ petitions under Articles 226 and 227, miscellaneous criminal cases (M.Cr.C.) including bail and quashing petitions, first and second appeals, criminal appeals, writ appeals, arbitration cases and motor accident claims appeals. In 2000, the Chhattisgarh High Court at Bilaspur was carved out of its jurisdiction; today it serves the entire state of Madhya Pradesh.

Why Use India Case Status Instead of eCourts?

With three benches at Jabalpur, Indore and Gwalior, MP High Court litigants and advocates often juggle separate cause lists and re-check each matter manually, with no notification when an M.Cr.C. is listed or an order is uploaded. A missed cause-list entry can mean a missed hearing. India Case Status tracks your Madhya Pradesh High Court matters across all benches continuously against the official record, sending WhatsApp and email alerts for listing dates, status changes and fresh orders — with every order PDF archived against the case file.
