About Meghalaya High Court
The High Court of Meghalaya was established on 23 March 2013, when it was carved out of the Gauhati High Court — matters from the state were earlier heard by the Shillong Bench. The court sits in Shillong, exercises jurisdiction over the entire State of Meghalaya, and is among the smallest High Courts in India by judge strength. It hears writ petitions under Articles 226 and 227, civil and criminal appeals and revisions, bail matters, public interest litigations and service disputes. Because Meghalaya is a Sixth Schedule state, the High Court also deals with appeals arising from District Council Courts in the Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Garo Hills autonomous districts, alongside supervision of the regular district and sessions courts.
Types of Cases You Can Track
Why Use India Case Status Instead of eCourts?
Tracking a Meghalaya High Court matter manually means opening the official portal, re-entering case details and checking cause lists every day — with no alert when the matter is listed, adjourned or decided. For advocates who also handle district court matters across the Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills, keeping every hearing date straight is harder still. India Case Status monitors your Meghalaya HC case continuously against the official record and sends WhatsApp and email alerts when the status changes, a hearing is posted or an order PDF is uploaded.
