Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

India Case Status ("we", "us", "our") is a digital subscription service for court case tracking across Indian courts. This policy outlines the terms for cancellations and refunds of our paid subscription plans.

As a fully digital service, no physical goods are involved. There is no shipping, delivery, or return of physical products.

2. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Here is how cancellations work:

  • How to cancel: You can cancel your subscription from your dashboard, or by contacting us at contact@indiacasestatus.com
  • Access after cancellation: Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to all features until the end of your current billing period (monthly or yearly). No further charges will be made.
  • No auto-renewal: Subscriptions do not auto-renew. You will receive a reminder before your subscription expires, and you can choose to renew manually.
  • Data retention: Your tracked cases and account data will be retained for 90 days after your subscription expires. You can reactivate at any time within this period without losing your data.

3. Refund Policy

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis for genuine reasons after verification. We do not offer a blanket "no questions asked" refund.

3.1 When refunds are considered

Refund requests are reviewed individually. Typical grounds where a refund (full or partial) may be issued include:

  • Extended service outage (more than 72 continuous hours) within our control
  • Service discontinuation by India Case Status
  • Duplicate payment or accidental overcharge
  • Billing error on our side
  • Other genuine grievances, reviewed on merit

3.2 When refunds are not issued

Refund requests are generally declined in the following cases:

  • Change of mind after using the service
  • Court website downtime or delays, which are beyond our control
  • Failure to use the service during the subscription period
  • Account suspension due to violation of our Terms of Service

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Send an email to contact@indiacasestatus.com with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Include your registered phone number and the reason for the refund
  3. We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours
  4. Approved refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days

5. Refund Processing & Timelines

Once a refund is approved:

  • Refunds are processed through Razorpay, our payment partner
  • The refund will be credited back to the original payment method used for the transaction (UPI, debit card, credit card, net banking, or wallet)
  • Processing time: 5-7 business days from the date of refund approval. Bank processing times may vary.
  • You will receive a confirmation email and/or WhatsApp message once the refund is initiated
  • If the refund is not received within 10 business days, please contact us or reach out to your bank/card issuer

6. Payment Failures & Disputes

  • Failed transactions: If your payment fails but the amount is debited, it will be automatically reversed to your original payment method within 5-7 business days
  • Duplicate payments: If you are charged twice for the same subscription, contact us immediately and the duplicate amount will be refunded in full
  • Payment disputes: If you believe a charge is unauthorized, please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank. We aim to resolve all payment issues within 48 hours

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Existing subscriptions will be governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase unless the updated policy is more favorable to the user.
