Why Alert Type Matters#
"WhatsApp court alerts" sounds like one thing, but the timing, frequency and format of alerts drastically affect how useful they actually are. A batch email once a week won't save you from missing a bail listing. A noisy stream of raw court log entries will train you to mute the service.
This post walks through every alert type India Case Status sends — so you know exactly what you will receive, and when.
Context: India Case Status is a full case tracking and litigation management platform — dashboard, Smart Case Finder, order PDF archive, hearing calendar with ICS export, client sharing, and team features. Alerts are one part of the product. Everything below lives inside that broader platform, and is also reflected on your dashboard in real time.
The Alert Types, End to End#
1. Real-Time Alerts (All Plans)
When the official court record for your case changes, you get a WhatsApp message promptly. Not batched into a weekly digest. Not queued up for a dawn email blast.
You'll get a real-time alert when:
- A new hearing date is posted
- The case status changes (Pending → Listed → Reserved → Disposed)
- A new order is uploaded — with a direct PDF download link
- The case is tagged, transferred or remanded
- A bail / interim application is decided
Why this matters: Bail orders, stay orders and interim reliefs are time-sensitive. A 6-hour delay can mean a client spends another night in custody or a counterparty acts on an order you didn't know existed.
2. Morning Digest (All Plans)
Every working morning, a single WhatsApp message summarises:
- Any overnight changes to your cases
- What is listed today (your court board for the day)
- Any orders uploaded since last evening
Think of it as your 15-second stand-up meeting with your caseload.
3. Evening Cause-List Digest (Lawyer & Firm Plans)
Each working evening, a single message with tomorrow's cause list across all your cases:
- Item number, court number, and judge
- A link to the court's official PDF cause list
- Brief note on what stage each matter is at (Fresh / Arguments / For Orders)
This replaces the ritual of checking 4–5 HC websites every evening manually. Read more in our cause list guide.
4. Hearing Reminders (All Plans)
Separate from cause lists — these fire off a schedule you set:
- 7 days before a hearing (so you start prepping)
- 1 day before (so you confirm logistics, travel, documents)
- Morning of (final check, file location, team briefing)
All three are optional per case. Turn them on selectively based on case importance.
5. Add-Case via WhatsApp (All Plans)
You can send us a case number or party name directly on WhatsApp and we will add the case to tracking. No need to open the dashboard.
6. Family Forwarding (Basic+)
Forward every alert automatically to one family member's WhatsApp. Built for NRIs whose spouse / sibling / parent is the actual on-the-ground party in India.
7. Client Sharing Link (Lawyer & Firm Plans)
Generate a read-only link for each matter. Your client sees their case status update in real time — you don't have to field "any update?" calls every week.

A Clean, Actionable Message#
Each alert contains only what you need: the case, what changed, the next date (if any), and a direct link to the order PDF or your dashboard. No hunting on eCourts afterwards.
We deliberately filter out cosmetic noise — stylistic edits, duplicate entries, same-day cause-list reshuffles — so if your phone buzzes, something actually happened.
Language Options#
You can receive alerts in any of these languages. Set your preference on the dashboard or ask us to change it on WhatsApp:
- English
- Hindi (हिन्दी)
- Tamil (தமிழ்)
- Telugu (తెలుగు)
- Kannada (ಕನ್ನಡ)
- Malayalam (മലയാളം)
- Bengali (বাংলা)
- Marathi (मराठी)
- Gujarati (ગુજરાતી)
- Punjabi (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ)
Useful when the WhatsApp number is your parent's or your client's, not yours.
What You Won't Get#
To keep the service honest:
- We do not send promotional messages to your alert number — account notices go by email
- We do not sell or share your case data — period
- We do not promise instant alerts — "real-time" means as soon as the change is visible on the court record. That depends on when the court uploads it, which varies court-to-court.
FAQs#
How fast is "real-time"?
Alerts go out promptly once a change is visible on the official court record. The Firm plan is prioritised for faster delivery.
Can I turn off the morning digest?
Yes. In dashboard settings you can disable any digest independently. Real-time alerts continue.
Can I get alerts on SMS instead of WhatsApp?
WhatsApp is our primary channel. Email is available as a fallback on all plans. SMS is not currently supported.
What if WhatsApp is blocked or banned in my country?
The email fallback works everywhere. Your dashboard on icsapp.in also shows the full alert history.
Can I share alerts with my lawyer?
Yes, on the Lawyer plan you can generate a client sharing link. On Basic+, the family-forwarding option works if your lawyer is the one number you'd forward to.
